Apple has inked a deal with the the Swiss Federal Railway (SBB) to license the use of the railway’s iconic clock on iOS devices.
Financial terms of the agreement were not released, but SBB said Apple signed a deal that will allow it to use the clock icon on the iPhone and iPad.
In the wake of the Sept. 19 iOS 6 launch, the SBB claimed in an interview with the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper that the new clock icon within iOS 6 on the iPad (left) violated the railway’s clock trademark.
It’s bad enough Apple ripped their entire mobile OS design from Palm OS — then proceeded to sue Samsung and everyone else for it — but, now they can’t even come up with something as simple as a compelling clock on their own?
This is also right after they cried like babies and had to admit in court that their products are no better than Samsung’s. Even going as far to have an Apple employee say that the Samsung product clearly was the Apple one in a blind test because it was more polished. Then they release a bigger iPhone (that had alpha quality maps software on it) to compete with larger Android devices. Next thing is going to be a smaller iPad (which Jobs said they would never do)
Tim Cook is no Steve Jobs. This is the John Sculley Apple all over again. The apple is rotting on the tree. How long before it falls?
